To facilitate the efficient operation of student attendance reporting Education/Certification:
High School diploma or GED; successfully pass MISD literacy test Special Knowledge/Skills:
Computer proficiency Proficient knowledge MS Word software, and file maintenance Knowledge of basic accounting principles skills Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and word documents Professional telephone demeanor Minimum
Experience:
One to three years of secretarial experience, preferably in public education environment Essential Job Functions:
Assist with registering incoming students.
Report attendance information to the Administration office.
Verify student attendance zones.
Assist with entering new students in computer system, transfer students from school to school.
Maintain original building roll.
Maintain daily attendance records, enter daily absences, print daily absences, resolve daily absences and enter unexcused absences.
Encourage students to bring written validation for excused absence within a three-day period.
Compile weekly, six-week, and semester reports of school attendance and verify the information.
Print student's information (i.
e.
, homeroom lists, class rolls, special populations, etc.
) for school personnel when requested.
Assist students, teachers and parents as needed.
Exercise good telephone etiquette.
Be responsible for the integrity of data.
Display punctuality, congeniality, dependability and efficiency.
Attend training as requested.
Seek advice and counsel when needed.
Report to work in a timely manner according to assigned schedule.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or other administrator that are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications for the position.
