Resources to become a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist through IADEP Support for pursuing multi-state licensure Continuing education (CE) programs and training Supervision hours Weekly training opportunities Advancement opportunities within the organization Job DescriptionThe Therapist at New Hope Ranch is responsible for providing addiction and mental health treatment to patients in the Inpatient Detoxification, Resident Treatment (RTC), As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Counselor will perform direct services, including individual, family and group psychotherapy, assessments, consultations and crisis interventions within the scope of the respective individual's license.
Responsibilities:
Adheres to all New Hope Ranch Policies and Procedures.
Conducts self in a manner that represents New Hope Ranch values at all times.
Maintains a positive and respectful attitude with all work-related contacts.
Communicates regularly with supervisor about departmental and New Hope Ranch concerns.
Consistently reports to work on time, prepared to perform the duties of the position.
Meets productivity standards and performs duties as workload necessitates.
Keeping abreast of current literature and developments in the field, and attending required agency training.
Appropriately documents clinical service provided.
Meets with residents within twenty-four hours of admission to establish therapeutic rapport.
Assesses suicidality and possibility for danger to self or others.
Complete charts after each individual, group, and family session.
Charts each resident's progress throughout the treatment experience.
Notes are completed on a daily basis whenever possible and never completed later then 5 days following a session.
Creates a written plan for continuing care (DC plan) and discharge summary.
Completes the Comprehensive Treatment Plan and Integrated Treatment Summary within three days of admission.
Identify weekly treatment goals and write contracts relative to individual client needs.
Write and facilitate the Discharge Summary at the time of discharge Provide therapy to clients, family's, and group sessions Ensures to use the utmost of care in protecting the confidentiality of client records in accordance with State and Federal laws Collaborates with medical, nursing, and counseling staff regarding detox clients Provide Professional and ethical therapy to chemically dependent patients in treatment through group, individual counseling, family counseling, and education.
Documenting casework in a timely manner in compliance with agency policies and procedures, including writing objective case notes, progress and discharge reports, and other timely status reports as requested by the supervisor and according to Texas & Joint Commission standards.
Presents changes, improvements or additions to protocols or behavioral health services to the team.
Understands and adheres to New Hope Ranch compliance standards as they appear in New Hope Ranch Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and New Hope Ranch regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
Keeps abreast of current literature and developments in the field, and attending required agency training.
Appropriately documents clinical service provided.
Systemically collect, record and analyze data and other relevant interactive social systems, including mental status, special precautions (suicidality, homicidally, elopement); physical problems/medical acuity (withdrawal and nutritional needs); and ethnic concerns (social, religious, or cultural needs).
Uses assessment data to identify problem list and other interactive social systems.
Initiates/develops a treatment plan with specific goals and interventions unique to the needs of the patient.
Intervenes as guided by the treatment plan to implement appropriate interventions that promote, maintain, or restore physical and mental health, prevent illness effect rehabilitation, and restore developmental progression in adulthood.
Provides health teaching for adult/family through individual and group interactions.
Recommends special precautions for adults, as needed.
Evaluates the response of the adult/family to interventions in order to revise the plan, including discharge criteria.
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned This is a Part-Time position that will work Monday - Friday with rotating weekends.
Qualifications Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted independent practice recognized licensure in Texas, to include Licensed Psychologist (Ph.
D.
, Psy.
D.
, Ed.
D.
), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or LPC-A, LCDC Preferred:
Dual licensure as one of above and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) Successful completion of continuing education as required by license issuing body.
Required:
possess a license in social work, counseling, psychology, chemical dependency counseling, or related field from a regionally or nationally accredited university.
Knowledge of industry standards:
organization, theory, principles, and research processes, accreditation and regulatory standards, ability to assess clinical care requirements based on nursing principles, scope of practice.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
